Washington University Mobility Study - GPS tracing survey and mobility research for campus infrastructure planning

I collaborated with Danish urban design firm Schulze+Grassov to develop a mobility plan for Washington University. The project addressed conflicts between pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles on campus.

We conducted a GPS tracing survey over two weeks with student and faculty volunteers, collecting geospatial data on over 44,000 individual trips. I also led contextual inquiries with students, campus police, administrative staff, and delivery services.

The resulting knowledge provided a holistic portrait of mobility on campus, directing our attention to areas previously unconsidered, and informed our team's design proposals for bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure improvements on campus.
